Siri on HomePod unable to power on native HomeKit TVs with iOS 18

I've discovered a bug with Apple Home / HomePod OS 18. I have confirmed the existence of the bug with several other users via a post on the HomeKit reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeKit/comments/1flj7bv/comment/lrpe6xh/?context=3

The bug affects Siri on HomePod and it’s ability to successfully power on TV’s with native Apple Home support. In my case an LG 65” C1 OLED TV. When using a scene within Home to power on a TV, Siri is unable to power on the TV. The bug was introduced in OS 18 and has been present in 18.1, 18.2, 18.3 and now 18.4.

With every release I have sent a bug report but heard nothing back, not even an acknowledgement of the report being logged.

Using Siri on another Apple device to run the same scene works fine - iPhone, Watch, iPad. It just refuses to work correctly using HomePod (1st Gen) and HomePod mini.

I have tried everything I can think of but nothing has worked. Restoring HomePods, Deleting and recreating HomeKit scenes nothing has worked.

Anyone else have this problem?

They don’t usually reply but I can assure they do review the feedback. For them to fix the bug it’s likely they need more people to report it. Don’t include links to Reddit and you should state which model of HomePod you have and which software version it’s running,

Just before I submitted feedback again, I decided to remove and reset all my HomePods and my LG TV from within the Home app.

Once I set all my HomePods back up and restarted my preferred HomeKit Hub (Apple TV 4K connected via LAN Cable) and my other Apple TV. I re-added and setup my LG TV back into the Home app and recreated my scenes.

I can switch my LG TV on from within the Home app using its tile and using and via created scenes. However I cannot use Siri via HomePod/iPhone/Apple Watch to switch the TV on successfully. Once the TV is on using the LG remote control, I can use Siri via HomePods/iPhone/Apple Watch with my scenes to successfully switch inputs, for example 'Watch AppleTV' scene will switch the input to the correct HDMI input and switch on lighting etc and back to live broadcast TV via my 'Watch TV' scene. I can also successfully switch off the TV with my 'Good Night' scene.

However I cannot get Siri to switch the TV on from standby. The TV is connected by LAN Cable has Wifi ready as backup and has the settings enabled to be woken by network as well as via Bluetooth.
