Why does my Magic Keyboard require two seconds of continuous pressing per key on iPad 10.2?

I have recently purchased a new iPad 10.2 and a Magic Keyboard for my daughter. The iPad is functioning correctly, but the keyboard is experiencing an issue. Each key requires two seconds of continuous pressing before it registers as a typed letter on the iPad. The touchpad (mouse) is operating as expected.

I have attempted various troubleshooting steps, including updating the iPad, restarting the device, and ensuring that all connectors are properly connected. However, the keyboard issue persists.

I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.
