Can't add visa to my apple wallet with TD CanadaTrust Visa - TD giving me run around
I had my TD Canada Trust visa set up on my iphone for years, worked find. never any issues.
Then Jan 2025 my visa got frauded. Called bank, reported it. They cancelled my card.
They sent me new card.
That's where all my problems began.
I tried to add card, (old was removed, no other cards in my wallet)
It failed, see the images for the messages it produced.
It states - IT'S US NOT YOU.
I contact TD CANADA TRUST customer service, special department = digital wallet.
The worse customer service I have ever experienced. These folks specialize in deflecting the issue, passing the buck, and just plain making up any excuse.
The made me try all sort of things....update ios, delete their app, re-install - they opened research tickets to investigate the issue..... of course i called many times, hoping to get a more knowledgeable person on the "support" line -
No luck.
The last person (march 28, 2025) that I spoke with .....he now tells me the issue is linked to my apple ID, that due to the fraud on my prior card, it will take a little longer for the "hold" to be released from my apple ID.
I explained to the agent - that I tried to add a credit card from another bank (BANK OF MONTREAL) - and that failed also .....and he told me that it's because of my apple ID has been flagged - risky ; but not to worry he has seen this before and it will clear up - and he says it won't take very long.
At this point , i'm boiling in frustration - I tell the tech. excuse me but I called BANK OF MONTREAL and their digital wallet team resolved the issue in 15 minutes with 1 call - whatever was causing the block on their was removed and i was to add my BANK OF MONTREAL mastercard -
of course I pointed out that he blaming my apple ID being flagged risky cause of the fraud makes no sense cause BANK OF MONTREAL removed it.
He states, it's because the card that was frauded was a TD CANDATRUST visa - I replied ; okay maybe ; but I doubt it ....why would their app state. IT'S US NOT YOU. If by his statement it is me (or my apple ID)
ANYONE ELSE have miserable experience with TD CANADATRUST ( in Canada of course) ?
The irony is that my primary bank, for personal banking, investments, business banking ; can't solve the issue - but the BANK OF MONTREAL, that I only have a basic no fee credit card with them - solved the issue in 1 call - in 15 minutes.
All that TD bank does, is delay, provide all sorts of different answers ; and their agent advises me to wait ...but tells me don't worry it won't be too long.
It's been since early February 2025 - when I received my TD visa - card that I could not add it to my wallet.
I really need the practical functionality of APPLE PAY - especially for quick items, coffee, gas, drive-thru.
Any help, suggestions would be highly appreciated.
