Wrong album artwork displayed for multiple artists on iPhone Music library

Hi all,

After an iPhone backup a few years ago, I got wrong album artwork displayed for multiple artists on my iPhone Music library. Not on ITunes (Windows) but my music Atwork was all over the place for year except for the new songs purchased more recently. They didn't get mixed up. Still pretty annoying.

It took me a while to find the solution and previous related Q&R posted in the Apple Community didn't help or work at all (even if it seemed SO easy like clicking one wrong artwork album, flick through songs and Press Ok. Everything was supposed to be resolved... didn't work at all (for me)). So I hope this post help people out. What I did was ''simple'' and successful.

#1 First I went on my phone App. Selected the Music App (IPhone 13 running on newly updated IOS 18.3.2 in March 2025). You scroll down to Downloaded music and you ask to delete all downloaded music. I was hesitant at first, but it's only ON YOUR PHONE, it doesn't affect your ITune (Maybe ensure you backup your phone and sync your library on Itunes before proceeding. I did, just to be sure nobody loose stuff).

#2 Next you open your ITunes on your computer. Plug your Phone. Go to Devices on the left of the screen. Click on the phone Icon you want to manage (in Devices), click on Music. Then you should see a screen Titled Music with ''Library, For you, Radio and Store''tabs at the top. Under Library, you click to redownload all your music (all songs, I had 2500 songs!). Once confirmed, you will see a turning arrow close to the Section called ''Library'' on top Left. If you click on ''Songs'' in this library, you will see all your songs from your ITunes and they will all have dotted circle on the left of them. As they get downloaded , they loose theses circles meaning they have been uploaded on your phone (we go in the wood A LOT, this is handy in no Wi-Fi or Cell Data Zones, you got all your music handy to party/chill).

At last: Once all songs have been uploaded again on your phone. All Album covers Artwork will be back to default and original settings. You will be able to enjoy the right artists with their correct album covers and songs again. Don't know for you but it was painful to DJ with the wrong cover Artwork. So glad this is resolved. Didn't see anything on the Web that pointed me out to this. Figured myself if I flushed the whole Library and uploaded it again it might work and it did.
