Can’t access Apple News with Apple One subscription

I enrolled in Apple One Premium at the end of March. At the time I had an individual subscription to News that I let expire a few days later. Now I have no access to magazines, etc. in Apple News. Also, no login page is offered just an ad to subscribe to the monthly 12.99 plan. I deleted and reinstalled the app and got the same result.
