Consolidating AND hiding the email accounts on Apple Mail (Sequoia)

Hi

I have bought a new Mac Book and am getting more and more fruystrated b y small thing that I can't seem to be able to do although I Am a Mac user since 1985.

Ok to the problem I have 17 e-mail accounts that I need to work with. Until up to now when I opened the side bar I was looking at mailboxes "on my Mac" where I aranged my mails as I needed.

On top of the side bar was a "group" called "mailboxes" where one could find a group of "inbox" and when this was opened all the accounts were present. And All the was fine.

With the mail program in Sequoia something similar is happening HOWEVER!!!!

Under all these groups of the side bar the 17 e-mail accounts are there visible creating a visual loooooooooooong list.

The question IS Can I make the disapear? And if Yes how?

I thank you all in advance for your time.

Please please help!

Thank you for your time. However Apple mail ALLWAYS did that. At least until OSX Catalina (the last OSX I used before Sequoia).

But since I may not have explained it correctly, look at the screen captures I made to illustrate the problem I face.

As for jumping to another e-mail client such as Thunderbird or worse a CRM it's not an option for me.

Either way the question is. Is there a solution within apple mail?

This is how the mail window looks like in Catalina

This is how it looks when the inbox tab is extended

This is the same window in Sequoia.

And here is the comparison

I hope now is clear what Ask

thx for your time nonetheless.

Well, you can collapse each of those accounts down from a list of all its mailboxes to a single line my holding the cursor over the name of the account until you see a circled "+" and a "v" appear to the right of the name, then clicking on the "v"; the "v" should rotate into a ">" and the list of mailboxes should collapse. Repeat for each of the accounts for which you do not want to see details.

Thank you very much for your help.

However Ive done this but having 17 e-mails to fight with (and more are coming) just collapsing the mailboxes does not help cause id still have 17 lines of clutter.

What I am looking for is a way to make them disappear all together. Like it was in previous versions of Apple mail.

I don't see why it has to be like this. Why is it not grouped in one colapsing tab. If one has 1 or 2 e-mail accounts than its ok but imagine id one would have 100 accounts to administer. That would mean he'd have 100 lines on his side bar. There should be. way to make them dipper if someone does not need them to be there. Even thunderbird has that option.

Eitherway thank you for your time my friend.

Apple Mail never did that. Select which inbox to view, or create a smart mailbox and use that, but mail itself either shows all inboxes when the all-inboxes is selected, or shows the specific inbox selected. Or whatever other mailbox or smart mailbox.

With even a decent fraction of a hundred mailboxes, consider acquiring a different mail client, or migrating to a contact relationship management CRM package.
