Is a password DMG still protected if mounted on another Mac?

I have created an encrypted PW protected DMG drive and have it saved on a Samsung

external SSD.

Now say it was lost or stolen. if a (bad guy) got a hold of it and mounted it on another Mac would he be able to access the files without the PW? 

Hope I’ve explained this properly.
