How do I resolve persistent 'Continue to sign in to iCloud' pop-ups on Windows 11?

Signing in to iCloud does not help. Restarting the computer does not help; the iCloud sign-in box is still there.

Has something changed with iCloud recently? I may not have signed in to it on the computer for several months.

iCloud for Windows in an endless sign in loop iCfE is in an endless loop asking me to sign in again and again and again… It won’t stop. Can't sign in to iCloud on Windows 10 PC I know my password and Applie ID. I can sign into apple on the web. But when when iCloud on Windows 10 tries to sign in, I get the nonsense popup shown below. I've tried uninstalling and resinstalling iCloud, restarting my PC, nothing works. So I get an annoying popup message from iCloud every minute or two trying to sign in. What can I do?
