Logic Pro Drum Kit Designer starts dropping MIDI events after a short while of playing.

Hi Logic Community!

I'm using Logic Pro 11.2.2 on Sonoma / i7 macmini.

Basically everything works great. I have a Roland TD-4 connected through a known reliable MIDI interface that I use for all my recording. Drum Kit Designer is configured for V-Drums. Everything is splendid for awhile, until it's not. Nothing I do aside from removing the Drum Kit Designer plugin from the channel completely and then re-adding it fixes the issue.

This also happens when I'm using a different MIDI drum controller (a DrumKAT) so we can rule out problems with the MIDI inputs. So Yeah, I'm just playing right along and then it starts only selectively playing what I'm playing skipping about 50% of the MIDI events that are being sent.

I've also had this work for hours on end with no issues. Or simultaneously work perfectly for one drum set on one instrument channel but not the DrumKat assigned to a different instrument channel. And keep in mind that it all works famously until it doesn't.

I've seen nothing mentioned of this behavior anywhere on the Internet, surely though this is some kind of bug.

Hi,

Have you tried connecting directly? It is worth a shot.

It seems like a transmission issue so you should test out the Midi Interface.

I recommend you use a Midi Monitor such as "ShowMidi".

You can also open the Environment and observe the Midi Data to see if it is arriving correctly.
