Ran this through A.I. Here is what I get:

In simpler terms, Logic Pro encountered a serious problem and decided to shut itself down to prevent further issues or data corruption.

Possible Causes (based on the limited information here):

Without more context from the crash log (like the function call stack leading up to the crash), it's difficult to pinpoint the exact cause. However, a SIGABRT in Logic Pro could be triggered by various factors, including:

  • Problems with third-party plugins: A faulty or incompatible audio unit (AU) or MIDI plugin is a common culprit for Logic Pro crashes.
  • Issues with audio drivers or hardware: Problems with your audio interface drivers or the interface itself can lead to unexpected behavior.
  • Corrupted project files: The specific Logic Pro project you were working on might contain corrupted data.
  • Software bugs within Logic Pro: Although less frequent, bugs within the Logic Pro application itself can trigger crashes.
  • Memory issues: While not always the direct cause of an abort, memory corruption or exhaustion could lead to an unstable state.
  • Problems with external MIDI devices or drivers: Similar to audio, issues with MIDI controllers or their drivers can cause problems.
  • Operating system inconsistencies: Although less likely, issues within macOS could contribute to application instability.

Troubleshooting Steps You Can Try:

To diagnose and potentially resolve this issue, you can try the following:

  1. Restart Logic Pro and your Mac: This is the simplest first step and can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
  2. Try opening a different project: See if the crash occurs with other projects or only a specific one. If it's project-specific, the project file might be corrupted.
  3. Disable third-party plugins: Temporarily remove or disable all third-party audio and MIDI plugins to see if the issue resolves. If it does, re-enable them one by one to identify the problematic plugin.
  4. Check your audio and MIDI device drivers: Ensure you have the latest drivers installed for your audio interface and MIDI controllers.
  5. Try a different audio interface: If possible, test Logic Pro with a different audio interface to rule out hardware-related issues.
  6. Reset Logic Pro preferences: Corrupted preference files can sometimes cause crashes. You can reset Logic Pro's preferences (note that this will reset your custom settings). To do this:
  • Quit Logic Pro.

  • Open Finder and go to ~/Library/Preferences.

Locate the file com.apple.logic10.plist and move it to the Desktop.

Restart Logic Pro. It will create a new preferences file.

  1. Update Logic Pro: Ensure you are running the latest version of Logic Pro.
  2. Update macOS: Make sure your operating system is up to date.
  3. Examine the full crash log: The portion you provided is just the beginning. The full crash log contains a detailed thread backtrace, which can provide more specific clues about where the error occurred. Look for specific function names or frameworks that appear repeatedly near the crash point.
  4. Search online for similar crashes: Copy and paste relevant parts of the crash log (especially the thread that crashed and any specific error messages) into a search engine to see if other users have encountered similar issues and found solutions.
