How do I remove floating emojis from FaceTime?

When chatting with friends on FT, emojis started floating up randomly throughout our conversation. Please let me know how to remove them. They are unnerving.

  1. During a video call on your iPhone, in the FaceTime app  or a third-party video conferencing app, open Control Center.
  2. Tap FaceTime Controls, then make sure Reactions is not selected.
