How can I fix the issue with M4 MacMini - USB speaker & microphone not recognised?

First time caller, long time listener

Somewhere in the macOS updates between 15.3 to 15.3.2 my MacMini M4 is no longer recognising the usb Jabra speaker and microphone.

It does not appear in output devices, nor after a shutdown for 10mins, or a reboot.

Prior macOS versions 15.1 and 15.2 the device was found and has been working.

Note: the Jabra device does work on my M1 MacBook Pro running 15.3.2.

So I can confidently say the Jabra device does work.

Any ideas of why the device is not recognised and maybe what to try to fix it?

I am thinking it might be a bad update for the USB devices on the M4 MacMini chipset?

I am hoping the next update will fix the problem.

Thank you for any ideas.

What USB-C to USB Adapter or Hub are you using to plug the speaker into the M4 Mac mini..?

Test the speaker using a USB-C to USB-A adapter plugged into one of the M4 Mac mini's front ports.

for some examples:

I have this same issue, only that I did not try to use Jabra on my MacBook Pro M1 and now it already runs 15.4.1

I am not using any adapter.

Jabra Evolve2 85 included an USB-C-dongle.

I think it is the Jabra Link 390 USB-C

I use my Jabra with the adapter on my Mac mini M4 and it stoped working after an OS Update.

On my MacBook Pro M1, I installed the Jabra Direct app, restarted the computer and checked to see that the Jabra-app had no updates. Then I incerted the USB-C-adapter, but nothing happens.

Is it Apple who shall fix the issue, or is it Jabra who will step up and supply an update?

I have resolved my problem.

The problem occurred due to the introduction of a Thunderbolt 4 cable into my scenario.

That cable allowed me to switch between my two Macs (Mac mini and MacBook Pro) to my display.

My experience with that cable was it intermittently dropping the Jabra speaker but not video or other usb devices.

Strange... but it was the issue.

I've replaced with a new TB4 cable, and problem has been resolved.

Thank you for people providing advice.

If other USB devices are not working when plugged into your Mac..?

Disconnect all USB devices > Startup in Safe Mode > Restart normally > test one USB device at a time.

have a look at > Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support
