Okay I will help you best I can as I am unable to tell when HMRC will ‘fix’ this

I feel your frustration having no backup but I need to make sure we can get a backup of your database before taking the steps rolling back the software as at risk losing your data for good

I see you have uninstalled and reinstalled your software which could delete your database as well, a prompt warns uninstalling may delete everything without a backup

First step will sound silly but do you have ‘system restore’

  1. From the Control Panel, select Recovery > Open System Restore.

OR

  1. Use the keyboard shortcut +R, type rstrui.exe and press Enter

See if your computer has system restore, the main date your looking for is to restore back before you installed your HMRC update, if not see if it is possible to restore back when you uninstalled HMRC PAYE basic tools so good chance it restore your database if it was to been deleted during uninstallation

if you have no system restore or no restore points let me know I try locate the files manually for you in my next step, I have to go place later today where I did it and write copy instructions down for you to message here and I will have to upload the rollback software to share

let me know how your system restore goes and we go from there

I found a solution myself to fix the software but I am on Windows and unsure if Mac would work the same?

I had the same problem since updating to 25.0.25073.211

after countless hours including ‘customer support’ saying there aware of the ‘problem’ they was no help

I found this post when trying to research the problem

Do you have any previous backups of your database and any older versions of the software? I can give instructions how to restore back to normal but again I did it on a windows machine, if the backups are the same as windows, could get a temporary windows machine to get back to where you was?

In a nutshell I managed to find old PAYE software, uninstall all paye, installed old payetools version. in the software itself update

to 24.1.24086.542 (do not update to 25.0.25073.211) and restore your backup and voila back to normal

if you lost your backups or made no backups there is a way to locate auto backups as everytime the software is shut down it creates one but I never used a Mac so I can’t say how to find them on Mac but with windows I could locate backups in c:/ app data etc etc
