Parental controls freezing on iPhone after recent updates

Since the most recent updates, I’ve been having issues with parental controls on controlling my children’s phones when I go into manage their time down and so forth it freezes, and I’m not able to get into it. I am not the only parent that I know that has complained of that recently.

Just making sure, you are on the latest iOS 18.3.2 right? I wanted to confirm because in your tagline it states your iPhone 11 is on iOS 16, which is well behind on updates.

Once you have done that, try and perform a Forced Restart. The trick is to perform it quickly and ignore the slider that appears midway.

  • Press and quickly release the Volume Up Button
  • Press and quickly release the Volume Down Button
  • Press and hold the Side Button until you see the Apple Logo

Looks like the latest update might have caused a bug with parental controls. Try restarting your device and your kids' phones, and make sure both are on the latest updates. If it's still freezing, try resetting the parental controls or reinstalling any apps related to it to see if that helps.

Same happens to me. It is very frustrating. I go to parental controls and it freezes. I have to keep restarting my phone. I have also noticed that she has been going over her time limits on social media even though she no longer has that VPN on her phone and I do not see how she could be bypassing parental controls. Any suggestions on what could be happening there?
