How do I transfer music from an old iPod to a refurbished 128GB iPod using a third-party app?

I have an old 32 gb iPod that cracked and decided to upgrade to a128gb. Apple

has discontinued Ipod so settled on a refurbished one. The problem now is that I can’t transfer the music to the new IPod on ITunes. When I try to sync, the process starts but stops immediately. Apple no longer supports IPods so it’d hard to get an answer. Is there a 3rd party app that will work?

Apple don't support copying non-purchased media from iPods into an iTunes library, nor do they provide technical support for older models. iTunes should still work however.

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - Apple Community for advice on reclaiming your media. Once in your library and backed up you should be able to sync to any other device.

Yes, you can use third-party apps like iMazing, CopyTrans, or TouchCopy to transfer music directly from your old iPod to the new one without iTunes. These tools preserve playlists, metadata, and make syncing easy even for unsupported iPods.
