How do I restore missing contact information in text messages on iPhone 15?

I got a new iphone15 Tuesday. It was working fine yesterday and now my messages show phone numbers only for most and their contacts attached is gone/not showing.

It sounds like your iPhone might be having trouble syncing your contacts. Here are some steps you can try to fix this issue:

1. Restart Your iPhone: A simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches.

2. Check iCloud Contacts Sync:

  • Go to Settings ➡️ [Your Name] ➡️ iCloud.
  • Ensure that the toggle for Contacts is Set to ON. If it is, try turning it off and back on again.

3. Edit a Contact: Open the Contacts app, select one of the affected contacts, tap Edit, and re-save the contact. This can sometimes refresh the link between the contact and the Messages app.

4. Sign Out and Back Into iCloud:

  • Go to Settings ➡️ [Your Name] ➡️ Sign Out
  • Sign back in and ensure Contacts is enabled in iCloud settings.

I did follow the above steps and it did not fix my issue. My messages displayed correctly with the name when I used my phone however since I ran the updated software 18. 3.2 it has been not working correctly. I have spent hours trying to resolve and also went to the AT&T store today and they have never seen this and were unable to resolve.
