How do I disable the blue flashing arrow when saving .PDF files on Mac?

Suddenly when I am saving an attachment from an email into a .PDF file, there is a very annoying blue flashing arrow indicating where I type. it is awful and I want to shut that off. It moves slower then I can type and then it is not saved in the correct name.
