Unable to delete old/duplicate Apple Pay addresses

I can see this has been called out before. I too am experiencing it.

Duplicate/sometimes incorrect data (email, phone, address) seems to appear in the Wallet section in Settings.

I've tried everything. I delete the duplicate email, 3 minutes later it reappears. Where is this data coming from?

No option to delete on MacOS settings, only through iOS and iPadOS. What a joke of a user experience. I reported this issue back in 2023. Still not resolved.

There is quite evidently a glitch of some kind. I want this escalated to the engineers please. This is not “Apple quality”, an incomplete feature set (no option to delete on Mac).

I created a fresh Apple ID/Account today to test in case my account was somehow corrupted but it isn’t! This is an actual Apple glitch. This needs to be resolved. It may seem minor but for more observant people, this kind of thing is extremely frustrating. There shouldn’t be duplicate data, I don’t need the duplicate data, and you aren’t respecting my choice for what email/phone/address I select.

Please get some people on it!!!

This isn’t Apple Support. I can assure you Apple does not analyze the posts and issues raised here. Apple Support Communities is a user to user public discussion forum. In other words I’m just a guy like you who spends a lot of free time helping other Apple owners.

You abs I can resolve this if you’d like. 😀 It’s nothing complicated. However, bringing up old posts is not helpful and a waste of your time, unless you plan on sharing your newfound knowledge. 😀

OK, here’s how you do it.

Go to your ME contact card in the Contacts app. Set up a home address and label it home.

Set and address as shipping 1, 2, 3 how many you need. See screen shot below.

Notice the 2 different zip codes.

This is what I get in my address fields.

The path is as follows,

iPhone > Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > scroll down > Shipping Address > see photo above

Thanks! Yup so I have corrected the addresses, it seemed to be due to me not setting the address on the actual Apple Pay card. The main issue I am now facing is the email and phone number fields. There are duplicate entries. I delete one, close the settings app, reopen and the duplicate i just deleted it back and selected despite me selecting the ME card data.

Hi @jeff 4 devices. Everything else syncs fine. I have ran through diagnostics with Apple numerous times. Nothing is wrong in that area. Also I removed my Apple ID from one device, made a new Apple ID , populated it with some data, the same issue happens which suggests it isn’t a sync issue as that Apple ID was only associated to one device.

Ah ok. I guess what I have done whereby escalating it to Apple Support who have escalated it to the engineers is the next best thing. I will keep pushing, they tried to say the other day that it’s not causing you any harm so it’s not that deep but I pushed back and said it just simply shouldn’t be happening. A glitch is a glitch. It needs resolving. I will keep the thread updated based on what I hear back as clearly others are experiencing this. Thanks.

Try the settings please,

OK, check these three locations please;

Each card also has an address associated with the account. Please follow this path;

iPhone > Settings > Apple Account (Your Name at top of screen) > Payment & Shipping > tap card to edit > tap Billing address > tap edit (upper right corner of screen) edit necessary changes

iPhone > Settings > Apple Account (Your Name at top of screen) > Payment & Shipping > Shipping Address (edit or delete address

iPhone > Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Transaction Defaults (scroll down) > Shipping Address > Edit (upper right corner of screen) > either Enter New Shipping Address, add new address or edit/delete addresses

This sadly did not work. I delete the duplicate email. I select the one I want. I force quit settings, reopen, the email is back. Just so odd. Unsure where the data is coming from and even if it duplicated the data, I would expect my selected choice to remain the same. So weird. Do you have any idea where some emails could be hiding?

I received a call from Apple Support. My agent said that Apple engineers are aware of the issue (it is a confirmed bug), but simply “don’t know why it’s happening”. He then said “there’s nothing else I can do, you will just have to wait for a software update”.

Fingers crossed it isn’t in 5 years later.

Amazing thanks! Such a fascinating glitch. I just signed into my new Apple Account on a Mac and am instantly seeing 3x emails, 2x addresses, all duplicates. Just weird how it adds an extra one on the Mac as the iPad only has 2x emails, and 1x address.

What I would love is a delete button on the Mac lol.

Anyways, thanks again. I look forward to hopefully hearing from you again if you figure something out :)
