Brand new MacBook Air owner, formerly used Windows on PC.

I set up my MacBook Air using its tutorial. Today is my 2nd day & it asked for my password to log in. I typed my password & tapped the trackpad. Nothing happened.

MacBook Air 15″, macOS 14.6

Welcome to Apple and your new Mac.

By default, you would need to press on the touchpad/trackpad to perform as a single "click." If you prefer to just tap, you can change this setting in System Settings. Think of System Settings as the equivalent of the Windows Control Panel.
