Time Machine won't finish syncing to my new MacBook Air.

I began set up with my new MacBook Air two days ago. My Time Machine won't do any new back ups now because it says it has not finished syncing. Should it take this long?

I saw in another thread that it helped to exclude Google Drive from the syncing.

I did this, but it didn't help.

Any suggestions?
