Siri won't read back text messages before sending

Siri used to read back my text messages before sending. Several posters say go to settings>Siri and Search and turn off "automatically send messages". But this option no longer exists in iOS 18. There is no Siri and Search, and there is no automatically send option. Is this ability to read back messages just gone?
