Why are my songs missing after exporting playlists on Mac?

migrated from macbook air 2017 to macbook air 2019. Music did not migrate. I manually transferred the music folder through online instructions. Exported the All Playlists BUT many songs were missing from 20 playlists I have put together. I then tried to export/import one playlist. then a window appeared with the following note: Some of the songs in

the file “-BATH.xml” were not imported because they could not be found. How is that even possible when ALL the songs came from my library of purchased and downloaded tunes from my cd's?

You may need to examine the XML closely to work out why this is happening. iTunes/Music have previously shown issues round tripping playlists where there are tracks that contain certain diacriticals, e.g. umlaut, in the file path. This can happen because routines to "sanitise" invalid characters may not have the correct matching rule to convert back to the original data. It used to happen on this site where an & in a thread title would display as & because the & character needs special treatment in html, but it wasn't being decoded correctly.
