Transfering photos from Photo to iMovie Problem

I create family movies using my collection of lifetime photos. I do the following:

1. I create an album using selected photos in the Photo app. Because of my storage by date, they are sequenced from oldest to newest
2. While in the Photo app, I can change the sequence into either direction: Oldest > Newest, or Newest > Oldest within View > Sort. This has always worked. I leave it in Oldest > Newest, my preference.
3. I next start a new Movie project. Under My Media > Photos, I pull up the new album I created for this movie, but it always transfers and uploads in the sequence Newest > Oldest. I tried reversing the sequence in the Photo app, but on transfer the album always remains on Newest > Oldest.
4. There are over 300 photos in this album, so I am not going to rearrange them individually.
