Tax Deduction for UK Residents Purchasing from Apple in the EU

Hello!

I am a UK resident interested in purchasing an Apple product from an EU country. I would like to understand the process regarding tax refunds or deductions.

  1. Is there a difference in tax treatment if I purchase the product online from Apple’s EU store versus buying it in an Apple retail store in the EU?
  2. As a UK resident, am I eligible for a VAT refund when shopping in-store, and does this also apply to online purchases?
  3. Are there any specific steps I need to follow to claim a tax refund, such as providing proof of export or using specific refund services?

Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

When you ask here, responders are neither Apple nor taxing authorities. We cannot give you and official answer.

Apple has an EU corporate presence in Ireland:

I understand there may also be corporate offices in London in the remodeled Battersea Power Station. Of course, you can always inquire of an Apple Retail Store.
