Why are my Bose headphones not working on my iPad running iOS 18.3.2?

After I updated my IPad Pro 11 inch with the IOS 18.3.2 update, my external Bose headphones will no longer work. I either hear a clicking/knocking sound or nothing at all. The headphones continue to work as always on my other devices. What can I do. I really wish I could delete this update.

Rolling-back to an earlier version of iOS/iPadOS is not possible.

All System Updates are digitally signed by Apple - and can only be installed whilst the digital signatures remain valid. After release of a new iOS/iPadOS version, the immediately preceding version continues to be digitally signed by Apple - however, usually within a few days, Apple will revoke the digital certificate with which the earlier version is signed.

If Apps no longer work properly following update to a more recent version of the OS, you’ll need to seek assistance from the related App Developer - as only they can resolve issues with their App.

How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

Consider that iOS/iPadOS updates include both functional and essential security updates - the latter being partially relevant to the iOS/iPadOS 18.3.2 release where a significant vulnerability has been patched. Restoring an earlier version of the OS would undermine the security of your device and your personal data.

For issues with third-party hardware, such as Bose, seek assistance from Bose' own Support resources - as they will be better able to assist with troubleshooting their hardware. They may be aware of an issue that affects a specific combination of device, iOS/iPadOS version and headphones.

The headphones have always worked on this iPad. They worked just before the update but not after. Also there is no headset connection other then inserting it into the iPads charging port. Volume works no issues. The update did this. Thanks for your help. Unfortunately none of it worked. If a download messes my iPad up, is there no recourse?

I don’t use apps to listen through my headphones. They plug into the charging port and have always just worked. Now they don’t. They work on a iPhone that hasn’t been updated yet, an older iPad and a Samsung phone just fine. It’s the update that caused this problem. It appears there are a lot of issues with this update.
