Could not remove Profile under VPN Management

Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue with one of our users who is using an iPhone 15 Pro. We have an enterprise application designed for internal employees only. After installing the app, iOS typically prompts users to trust the certificate before launching the application. This process has worked smoothly for all users except for this particular individual.

The problem arises when trying to remove the profile associated with the app. Even after uninstalling the application and deleting the profile from VPN & Device Management (due to a previous certificate issue), reinstalling the app automatically trusts the certificate without prompting the user. For other devices, removing the profile requires the user to manually re-trust the certificate upon reinstallation. This behavior suggests that the old certificate might be corrupted, preventing the app from launching properly.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue before? If so, I would greatly appreciate any insights or potential solutions to resolve this.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Regards,

kyungss

On my device, once I removed the profile and reinstall the app, it asked me to trust the profile again, but in his case it’s not, he doesn’t require to read into trust list, what could be the cause? We are using the same app version, downloaded from the same source. I’ve checked on his keychain, removed the sync and also reset his network setting as well, but it doesn’t help..

If you're having trouble removing a VPN profile on your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management, select the profile, and tap "Delete Profile" or "Remove Profile". If it's a supervised mode profile, it might not be removable by the user.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  • Locate the VPN Profile:
    • Open the "Settings" app.
    • Tap "General".
    • Tap "VPN & Device Management".
    • You should see any installed configuration profiles, including VPN profiles, listed here.
  • Remove the Profile:
    • Select the VPN profile you want to remove.
    • Tap "Delete Profile" or "Remove Profile".
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the removal.
  • Restart your device:
  • After removing the profile, it is recommended to restart your device.
  • Supervised Mode Profiles:
  • If the profile is a supervised mode profile, it might not be removable by the user, as these are typically managed by an organization.

Hello, we’ve tried removing the profile in vpn and device management and restarted the device. However, the profile was added automatically after reinstalling the app, it was supposed to prompt the user to add the certificate to trusted profile. Enlighten me if I have missed something along the way.
