Music Equalizer Not change according to the song's EQ preset selected

It's not quite the same problem, Antonio, but I've noticed Apple Music/iTunes is now seriously distorting all my AIFF music files, the bass in particular. Other than updating my 3.1 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5 iMac MacOs to Sequoia (now 15.3.1) from Catalina later last year I have changed nothing in my audio set up. I thought it was something to do with the AIFF files I recently downloaded from Bandcamp as I first noticed it earlier this year but older AIFF files are also similarly distorted (sorry Bandcamp!). When I replace a particularly distorting track with an ALAC file the issue partially resolves so I wondered if it was the firmware on my iFi Zen V2 DAC (playing into KRK Rokit 5s) but it doesn't seem to be. However, I eventually found that by turning off the equalizer I was able to restore better clarity to AIFF files and "normalize" ALAC files. There is still some harshness audible in AIFF so I wonder if this is some attempt to push Apple Lossless format! Bl©©dy irritating but for now I steer clear of the equalizer!
