Error 10056 when changing sound output from default speakers to Homepod (Airplay)

Happens only in Netflix app, none of the 6 other streaming apps have this issue.

Happens for a few months now, Apple TV and HomePods are up to date, so are all the apps.

Only when changing the sound from default speakers to any of my HomePods.

Although the error states I should contact Netflix support, they told me to get in contact with Apple Support…

anyone an idea on how to fix?

This is what Netflix says about this error:

Netflix says, 'The connected display is not supported. (10065)' - Netflix Help Center

AirPlay use may be prohibited (by Netflix), even if only for audio [although they intended to block AirPlay for video]. Try using a wired audio connection (through HDMI, as in: default TV speakers setting on Apple TV, and audio passthrough to the soundbar in the TV settings). A wired connection would be better anyway, as audio over HDMI supports 5.1/7.1 multichannel and Dolby Atmos, while AirPlay would use the stereo 2.0 audio stream instead.
