Why can't I import CDs to my iPhone?

I installed the Apple Music app on my Windows 11 PC. I was told by Apple support that iTunes was “going away “.

I did this because iTunes would no longer transfer my cd’s to my iPhone 14.

The Music app does not support importing my cd’s (that I have purchased!).

Apparently Apple wants you to stream (pay again) for music you already own. What if you go to a concert and buy a CD to support the band?

I noticed when I still had iTunes it changed. I could import my cd’s but they wouldn’t transfer to my iPhone.

I don't know why Apple are pushing Apple Music on Windows so hard when it is clearly so poor in comparison to iTunes and is missing many features. Installing any of Apple Music/TV/Devices limits iTunes to managing audiobooks and podcasts, and suppresses any device management features. If you uninstall each of the newer apps that you've installed iTunes should be restored to full functionality. You will need to reselect Music from the media selection tool at the top left.

If that hasn't helped to get your device connected to iTunes try iOS device not showing in iTunes for Windows - Apple Community. You might also consider rolling back to the previous build of iTunes if you cannot get the current one to work correctly. Links to recent builds can be found at the very bottom of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates - Apple Community.
