Syncing 11000 songs from iPhone to iCloud and Mac, how to check sync status?
There seems to be no quick way to check what the sync status is in Music.
I’m trying to sync 11000 songs from my iPhone to the cloud and then onto my Mac. I have an Apple Music subscription, 2TB backup space and a brand new MacBook Pro.
All I’m getting on my Mac is a list with greyed out songs, waiting to be downloaded and black song which are already on the Mac.
When I start syncing I get a status bar, but after leaving my iPhone to sync overnight on the WiFi there is no way of telling what the status is. The bar has disappeared and the list with greyed/black songs doesn’t seem to have changed.
When I switch sync off and back on again the status bar reappears, but showing the same status as at the beginning of this exercise.
Backing up to my Mac only seems to work one way Mac > iPhone and not the other way, which I need as all my songs are on the iPhone and not on the Mac.
I’ve spoken to Support but they took ages to work out what the ‘problem’ was, only to tell me that it might take hours, if not days to sync.
Is there no way to backup/sync in a more convenient way? It used to be so easy years ago and now Apple seems to have taken the Mickeysoft approach and made it sooo inconvenient and difficult in order to maximise profits. If there is no better way to do this I will have to cancel Apple Music as there won’t be any point in having it!
