windows boot drive created on mac is not recognized properly as a bootable drive.
Hi so I just rebuilt my pc with refreshed parts due to my sata boot drive c failing. It should be known I only have a 13 inch macbook pro 2020 intel based macbook with which to make the boot drive. i tried by downloading the windows iso and using windiskwriter to format the drive. i also tried downloading and booting windows through boot manager to run windows off my mac so i could try using the media creation tool. I tried these with both windows 11 and 10 multiple times each way. i know making a boot drive for windows on mac can be troublesome but by all accounts i've read this should be working. the drive will show up in boot sequence in bios but says no bootable device found when clicked. Im using a brand new kingston data traveler usb c 3.2 64gb for my boot drive. I am on the am5/expo platform (gigabyte b650m mb, 7700x with a 2080 if that matters) downloading from a windows device may be difficult for me, so I appreciate any help greatly(:
