MagicMove animation with manual matching object

I'm using KeyNotes a lot, and one of the annoying things for me is when using MagicMove and objects matches to each other incorrectly in the MagicMove animation between slides! and I need to do hacky tricks to make them match.

It would be a huge time saver if object could have a matching ID or matching Hint property on them to hint the MagicMove animation to try its best to match items with the same matching ID or matching Hint ID.

I don't disagree with you there. The logic behind Magic Move is opaque, to say the least. Usually (for me at least) it works (or at least makes sense), but when it doesn't there's not much you can do about it.

Personally, I only ever apply it by duplicating a slide and then moving the objects around. That way it's pretty clear, even to Keynote, which objects are related. Sometimes this involves an interstitial slide that's separate from the main presentation, just to get the effect I'm looking for.

In the meantime, the best you can do is provide feedback to Apple and hope that the developers see the value in being able to manually map objects between slides: Feedback - Keynote - Apple
