Connect it to whatever Mac you've got and open Finder. The iPod should appear in the sidebar near the bottom and when you click on it you'll get options for restoring it. I restored a couple of iPod Classics last year with Sonoma so it all still works.

Click here and follow the instructions. Restoring the iPod Touch requires plugging it into a computer with iTunes or Devices installed, or a Mac running Catalina or newer; it's referring to the iTunes application, not the iTunes Store.

Thanks. I think that’s why I’m having issues. I don’t have a Mac that has iTunes. The oldest OS I have on a conus Big Sur 11.7.6. Is there a work around if I can’t find an old computer with iTunes?
