Received a transaction from an unknown phone number... now they are asking for the money back? Is this a new scam? I don

I received a notice of an apple pay deposit transaction to my account from an unknown number. I blocked and reported the transaction and deleted the message. The next day I received another notice from the same unknown number, saying they made a mistake and asked me to send the money back. I blocked and reported the transaction again.

I requested a new card number from apple pay and only have a reloadable debit card attached to apple pay. The reloadable debit card does not have any funds on it at this time.

Is this a new scam attempt to access my accounts? It could be a simple mistake/typo from an unknown person, but I don't want to send the funds back, on the off chance it would provide any of my account information or access to someone?!?
