How do I permanently delete books I read on iBooks?

I want to permanently delete books that I have already read in iBooks that I will never read again. If this was an at home library, I would give away or donate the books or throw them away even if I had to. Why doesn’t Apple allow people to permanently delete books they no longer want? Many feel as I do. This has been a complaint for years and it’s about time that there’s an update that allows us to permanently delete books, not just to hide them. I’m not worried about people seeing the books on there so they don’t need to be hidden. I just want to get rid of them so I can easily see the books that I want to read not the ones I will never read again.
