Unable to purchase books on iPhone despite being signed into Apple Account

I put in my correct password. I’ve done this for many years, but it keeps saying that password failed when trying to purchase a book. I was able to log into iCloud via the web browser and my ID worked for some reason it’s not working for Apple Books. Is anyone else having an issue?
