iPod Video not properly working since Apple moved from iTunes to Music

Has Apple abandoned the iPod Video when they moved from iTunes to Music? Since MacOS Catalina I have not been able to properly work with the iPod Video (and Photo); they will not restore nor finish syncing.


iPod appears to sync, but once it is done and I eject it in Finder, the iPod reboots and never comes back up. I have seen this happen on several Video and Photo iPod which I own - and I own a few. Generations 3, 4 (b&w), 6 and 7 work fine. I remember something like this happen when I moved from Mojave to Catalina which is why I kept one MacBook Pro with Mojave and iTunes. The iPods also work fine on a Windows PC.


After the iPods become useless from using them on Sonoma or Sequoia I have to put the in disk mode and restore them on Windows or Mojave.
