Why won't my iPod Nano 3rd Gen sync with iTunes?

I bought a brand new, never been used iPod Nano 3rd gen. When i hook it up to my iMac and open apple music, it shows as "No Name". It keeps on loading and after a while, it says that it cannot find the iPod. I want to use this ipod for some 00's vibes, but i can't seem to get music on to the iPod. Please tell me what to do to make it work.

ipod not showing in apple music or itunes I'm trying to update my ipod nano, but it won't appear in either apple music or itunes. it appears in windows explorer. I have already tried: uninstalling, rebooting, installing itunes and apple music uninstalling ipod drivers (ipod not plugged in at the time), normally a popup appears for itunes asking if i want to itunes to connect to ipod Reformatted ipod in windows But nothing has happened
