Applying Keynote transitions when jumping to specific slides

We use Keynote to present our church sermon graphics. We send the Keynote output to projectors in our auditorium and control the presentation on a Mac Mini in our AV booth. At times, our Minister does not go in sequence but rather skips around. When he does this, we have to jump to a specific slide by entering that slide number and pressing enter. When we present a slide that way, no transition is applied. Rather the selected slide just cuts onto the projectors. Is there a way to "go to" specific slides while still applying the transition we have applied, usually a dissolve.

Thank you for your help.

There's no way to apply slide-level transitions when you jump around like this. While it may, conceivably, be possible for some transitions to make sense (e.g. Fade Slide A -> Slide B), others don't (e.g. Magic Move, which depends on similar items between slides).

However, individual slide objects' build-in effects should still work.

So while probably not quite what you were looking for, it may be possible to convert some of your transitions to build-in effects on the target slide's objects. That's about the best I can think of, off-hand.
