CarPlay not working since iOs 18.3

I turned off the Content and privacy restrictions

settings>screentime>content & privacy restriction settings

i found this information on an Apple chat group

I will have not yet downloaded 18.4 very dubious after all of the other updates as it knocks out CarPlay

since 6 months i was working on and found my problem where is. I have MB GLC180 and my one phone was not connecting via car play and the other did not work also as soon as the ios update was done.

after all steps were done by apple instructed nothing changed.

once i noticed my 2 phones do not connect to the same car and my friends are good; i have suspected on my icloud account. Copied all in the phone to a pc than deleted icloud account and here it is!!! Connected… to test again i entered my i cloud account again to the phone and seen again did not work.

this time i have generated another amd new i cloud account and tested with it. Again!!! Working….

finally the stupid time loss to solve this matter is over.

BINGO. disabled my VPN on my iPhone15 ProMax and all is working again!!! Nice catch. Yes they need to address this as commercial VPN services are providing great protection and low cost and becoming very popular.

I don’t know about ur VPN app (I use ProtronVPN) but I installed a widget on my home screen that lets me toggle on and off to work with CarPlay

UPDATE

I updated to 18.4.1 and CP has been quickly and consistently auto connecting in my Audi before I back out of garage, and working well for over a month.

Any other VW/Audi owners getting good results with 18.4.1?

I am not planning on updating to 18.5 out of concern that CP will break again.

I have a 2018 mustang gt and having the same issue with the plugin Apple CarPlay, works wirelessly. Issues all came up when I updated to 18.3

these exact steps worked for me. Just make sure to click on Edit at WiFi networks and remove car name ftom that

Thought my VPN was off but for some reason was on Pause.

Do you have a VPN?

If so, switch it off.

Didn’t work because it wasn’t off…weird

I did the same and it fixed the issue

2021 Audi with 18.3.2.

Reset Network Settings didn’t help.

Dealer tried several phones with 18.3.2 and could not connect, but tried 18.3.1 and could get CarPlay connected.

Tried today with 18.4.

Still not pairing, etc.
