'The owner of this item will be able to see its location' pop up on my airpods

Hello,

This morning I got a pop up that said:

The owner of this item will be able to see its location.

You are connecting to an item that's paired to someone else's Apple account.

Then some weird symbols followed this message.

These are my airpods, I got them new with my phone two years ago. They've never been used by another person. They're in a distinctive case so there is no chance they've gotten mixed up with a family members pair and none of their accounts show this device on theirs.

Should I be worried/concerned? Does a stranger have access to my details? I have had no email about security on my account or anything so I doubt someone has my apple ID details.

Also, I have not been on any 'weird' or 'suspicious' websites, I literally just use social media on my phone. Anything that can be potentially unsafe is done on my PC for extra security.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.
