Verifying Mac location and remote lock after theft

Hello, my mac was stolen tonight.

I have activated the location: is the address that is displayed from my iphone correct?

I have done a remote lock: will the person who stole it still be able to use it?

Thank you

Your Mac cannot be unlocked by the thief after you have locked it using Find My or iCloud.

They will not be able to use it. It's a brick until it gets back in your hands and you unlock it.

Use Lost Mode in Find Devices on iCloud.com - Apple Support

File a police report, report it as stolen to your homeowners insurance carrier (some cover theft/loss) and then make plans to replace it. The sad truth is you likely will not get it back.

If it hasn't been returned in a reasonable amount of time, consider also erasing it remotely.
