Sync Clips greyed out Final Cut Pro

Using FCP 11.0 on Mac Book Pro M3

I'm following a video tutorial on how to sync one audio and one video clip in the browser.

I have all the same assets as the tutor and am following his steps exactly.

I select the audio clip and the video clip in the browser using CMD-click
Right click on one of the clips to get the menu but the Syncrhonise Clips option is greyed out

I've tried restarting and checking for updates but this does not help.

I've also read the solutions offered to this issue elsewhere in the community but none of them work.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks for the quick reply, Tom.

No, I tried deleting settings as you suggest, clicked Delete in reponse to the dialogue box and tried again, but it's still greyed out.

Interestingly, in a different library using some of the same assests, it will now let me sync clips. But not in the one I am currently working on.

Also, it will let me video sync two multicam clips (in either project) using audio to do the synchronisation. So it only seems to be sycning one audio and one video clip which is not working, and only in this one library.

Any other ideas?

Update:

It seems to be the video clip which is causing the issue.

I want to sync audio clip called "sync sound' with video clip "dream cu". From the earlier screenshot, this did not work and still does not.

But the same audio clip can be synced to another video clip:

And highlighting the "dream cu" video clip in combination with any other audio clip leaves the optiion greyed out.

What could it be about this one video clip that refuses to sync?

First try trashing your settings. Hold Opt-Cmd as you double click the library you want to open to launch the application. A dialog appears asking you if you want to Delete Preferences. If you simply hold the two keys while launching the application it will open a default Untitled library.
