Final Cut Pro 11 crashes immediately upon exporting captions

I've been loving the new captions generation in Final Cut Pro 11 and have used it for several videos. Unfortunately, it's crashing now on my latest project.

  1. I've cleaned up captions errors and overlaps (same as always)
  2. Select File > Export Captions…
  3. Pick the folder, check the iTT option, and Relative to Timeline (Absolute crashes too)
  4. Click Export and it immediately crashes

Any ideas what to try next? I've reviewed the caption text and don't see anything strange. I've also cleaned us some of the caption positions to make sure they aren't even close to overlapping. No clue what to try next.

Cheers,

Kevin Hoctor

Did you delete the application preferences? You should do it after a crash, as preferences get corrupted and that in turn may cause subsequent crashes. To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting the application and click Delete Custom Settings. The application will start with default settings and open an "Untitled" library. Adjust the settings, reopen the library you were working, and see how it works now.
