AirPlay Language Issue: Safari on Mac to Apple TV
I’ve noticed an issue when using AirPlay to stream videos from Safari (directly via the YouTube player, no Desktop Mirroring) on my Mac to my Apple TV. The audio language of the video changes to Spanish (or occasionally another languages) instead of the expected default language.
Here’s what I’ve observed:
- When I AirPlay the same video from my iPhone to the Apple TV, the language plays as it’s supposed to.
- On the YouTube player, I’m unable to change the language option while AirPlaying from Safari. The language selection options are simply gone during AirPlay. However, when AirPlay is turned off, I can access and change the language options without any issues.
Devices:
- iPhone SE 2020
- MacBook Pro 15" (2017)
- Apple TV (3rd generation)
All devices are running the latest software updates.
Additional details:
- This issue also happens when I use the AirPlay option provided by my LG TV.
- I’ve tried logging out of my YouTube account and clearing all cookies in Safari, but the problem persists.
- I’ve seen posts here and on Reddit about setting the correct languages on the Apple TV. I’ve double-checked these settings on my Apple TV, and everything is configured correctly.
Has anyone else encountered this issue or found a solution?
Thanks in advance for your help!
