Finder icon has vertical stripes after Sequoia 15.2 (24C101) update

I've had this issue occur intermittently with both the iCal icon and the Firefox icon. (Screenshots below.)

For me, killall Dock normally did not work, neither did restarting, PRAM reset, SMC reset either. But this morning I solved the problem the first time I can remember. (Other times it issue normally resolved itself after a fews days or weeks). So what finally solved it for me?

Start up in Safe Mode (hold shift while computer restarts), then long in. For me the icon distortion was resolved. Then restart again normally. For me the icon distortion continued to be solved, now persisting through the normal restart.

I hope that will solved the issue for some others. Apple Text support walked through the troubleshooting steps with me and the Safe Mode boot was the answer. (At least for me, this time!)

BTW, this is not isolated to 15.2 because I'm running current 15.4.1 and was still having the issue.

Have you tried in Terminal

killall Dock

This will reset the dock

Macbook Pro 13 inch - recently updated to Sequoia 15.3.1 and this started. I did the killall Dock (thank you)! I also turned off animation when opening apps in the settings (Display and Dock) and the fix survived one restart so far.

I had the same issue. I opened Dock settings and was moving the Dock size from small to large. It was ok after about 40%. I think this is a bug.

killall Dock works but needs to be performed after each reboot.

Anybody found a permanent fix?

Happened to me too. On 15.2, updated to 15.3, still persist. Affecting random apps icon on dock. Log out/log in clear the issue temporarily, re-appear at random time. Sometime it resolved on its own.

Macbook Pro 13" 2020 4 TBT3 i7+32GB.

Do these cosmetic vertical lines negatively impact the functionality of Finder or the operating system as a whole ?

Restart in Safe Mode.

Does the issue present in this mode ?

Same problem here with MacBook Pro 2020, appears since update on iOS 15.2 and still in 15.3. Clearly a bug that should be resolved by Apple. Little hope though they'll do as they obviously don't work on bugs with their Mail or Preview apps either.

I have the same issue. On my intel mac (2020 i5 16gb ram), happens to the finder icon and the bin icon. Killall works, but upon rebooting it comes back. Happens with or without external monitors, I removed betterdisplay, and it still happens. I have updated to latest sequoia (15.3), still happens.

Have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?

I’ve been having the same issue for months. Was told today to downgrade the software & that should fix… we’ll see

I've been having the same issue for a few months now on my MacBook Pro (2020, 13" with Sequoia 15.3.2 installed).

The app icons it affects vary over time. First, it was the calendar icon (and the notification badges!). Now, it's the Spotify icon. Possibly others, too, if I were to open them and they appeared on the dock.

Would be great to get this bug fixed, as it has me nervous that something's awry in my OS.
