Removing songs from playlist deletes them from library on new iPod Touch

can you remove song from a playlist without deleting from library, I used to be able to edit playlist on my older iPod, got a new iPod touch a couple of years ago now when I deleted some songs from a playlist that also gone from my library

Deleting playlists from one device, but keeping them on others I'm planning on removing all the music from my iPad due to storage issues/. My concern is this: (and yes I know that deleting playlists does not delete the songs from your library) If I remove the music, including the playlists which are also on other devices, will I lose the playlists elsewhere? I know that if I create a new playlist on one device it automatically populates it to all my others, so by that math...?
