I have a double LP of tunes on my desktop in .wav format. I can't get them into a playlist I created in the Music sidebar. Won't drag, won't right click, nothing...help! Thank you.

It looks like "Maple Leaf Jazz Band" in the left sidebar is a playlist folder, not a playlist. You can't drag songs directly into a playlist folder.
Instead, use File > New > Playlist to create a new playlist, and see if you can drag the songs into that new one.

If right-click, Open With > Music (or iTunes) doesn't work, then the files are not compatible. That could be for multiple reasons. Try a third party tool to convert them to a different format.
These are my a few of playlists in Music. Don't know the difference between smart and regular. Pretty sure I'm not smart! OK, I looked it up; I think it's regular but I can't drag files into it. Importing all those other ones was easy. I realize the files above also show a pdf and a couple of jpg's but I'm not trying to import those. The tunes won't go into the playlist one by one either.

Is the playlist a regular (not smart) playlist?
