Itunes only synchronizes purchased music with iphone

When I synchronize my iphone / itunes with my mac it only synchronizes purchased (from itunes) music. This is a new problem. Before it also synchronized all other music (cds, purchased from other sites etc).

I have an iphone 10 and a mac book pro from 2024. All updated software. Is it tht the iphone is to old for the macbook?

Syncing iTunes library from PC to new iPhone 14 Pro Max A great many of my songs that I put in iTunes from CDs that I own did and will not sync to my new iPhone 14. They are checked and not greyed out. For instance, Disc 1 of a double album synced, but not Disc 2. What? I seriously don't have time to figure this out.
