How to fix iPod Nano stuck in color loop?

This happened to me a few years ago - the Nano was in an endless loop of flashing the background color and then black over and over. Nothing worked. But I didn't throw it out. After the battery had died and I recharged it, it worked normally. I used it for about a year before it happened again. Just let the battery die, recharged, and it works again.

(It has my music library on it.) I've plugged it into my computer to charge and have left it plugged in for a few hours. Every couple of minutes, I hear the hard drive whir, see the Apple logo light up on the screen, as if it's powering up, but then the screen darkens and I see the message "Please wait. Brand new Ipod Nano Gen 7 not holding charge & constant reset Hi, We just gifted our daughter a brand new ipod nano gen 7. We plugged it in and left it charging for a few hours and shows 100% battery. We are able to get it through the set up process while it is plugged in (charging). However, if we unplug it, it automatically dies (doesn’t hold the charge). When we plug it back in, it powers back on, shows 100% battery (while plugged) but it requires to be set up again (language, date, time, etc). This keeps on happening over and over again every time we unplug and replug it in. How do I solve for this? Being able to use the ipod only while plugged in is NOT a solution to this problem. We need to be able to use it without being plugged in. We bought this ipod nano a number of years ago and never used it. We didn’t even get it out of the box til today. Help, please!

iPod will not charge I recently borrowed a iPod Classic from my father while I work to get enough money to replace the hard drive to an iFlash board in my iPod Video. The iPod Classic charged fine until about an hour ago when the lightning icon stopped appearing. This happened when I kept plugging in and unplugging the cable as my stereo wont let me play next tracks unless I do it while its disconnected. The device does have a little battery but its at red. After plugging it in for a while, it doesn't SAY its charging but goes up to a green color around halfway but once I disconnect it, it goes back to red. This is really worrisome as the device was working fine until I borrowed it. I tried using 2 cables and connected through both DC and AC power. If anybody knows what the issue is please notify me. I want to know if either it was the charging port, a visual glitch or the battery finally dying. I really don't want to take apart the iPod even though its already scratched up as I want to keep it in the condition it was handed to me in.
